The company was started in the year 2018. The company is producing and selling biocatalysts, biodigesters, biofertilizers
There is urgent need for solutions to the current solid waste menace in our cities today. The founder observed that environmental degradation due to poor solid waste and over use of chemical inputs is causing wide spread detrimental effects worldwide and in Kenya.
Thus the initiative of making products and offering services that will ensure environmental safety and environmental sustainability.
The problem being addressed is poor waste disposal: littering, burning of waste, use of chemicals on waste and high cost of hiring exhauster services to empty septic tanks and pit latrines. Burning solid waste releases greenhouse gases which cause global warming and harm human health. Chemicals used in septic tanks and pit latrines have side effects. On the other hand, disposing solid waste in dumping sites has challenges because it takes up a lot space which leads to land scarcity.
My solution is unique because the products act rapidly unlike decomposing waste naturally or applying chemicals which end up killing essential microorganisms that would breakdown the waste. The products are eco-friendly, affordable and easy to use. The ingredients used are of advanced genetic variability. They are well adapted to local conditions and are formulated using unique carriers materials that prolong their shelf life. They are novel because they are not known to have been used before for similar purposes. My solution is also very innovative because traditionally, solid waste is burnt or put in dumping sites to decompose naturally. Burning waste contributes to global warming while natural decomposition takes long periods of time leading to littering and filling-up of available space. The solution is also innovative because it allows value addition of the abundant and locally available organic waste through converting it into useful bio-organic fertilizer. The solution eliminates the need for expensive exhauster services for emptying septic tanks and pit latrines. Septic tanks and pit latrines are commonly used in developing countries due to absence of adequate sewerage systems.
