Immaculate Primary school, located in Mihang’o, Nairobi County, was founded in the year 1994 by The Divine Word Missionaries, as an informal school with only 2 wooden classrooms and a few children in class 1 and 2, who were taught by 2 untrained teachers. It was established as a mixed primary school which is now duly registered by the Ministry of Education.
The Parish Priest at the time, Father Herman Gasser, undertook the construction of a permanent tuition block comprising of 9 classrooms, 4 administration offices , a staff room, a hall and 3 staff toilets. The construction work was completed in the early 1997.
The first KCPE candidates sat for their exams in November, 2000. Ever since then ,the school has managed to maintain an above average mean score. This has ensured that a good portion of our best students have been absorbed into National Schools.
Currently, the institution has 820 students, 30 teachers and 20 non-teaching staff.
With a holistic approach to learning, we have been able to merge academic learning with co-curricular activities into our education system, thus producing well-rounded, reliable, God-fearing, hardworking and humane characters.
