Juja Preparatory School (JPS) was founded in 1997 with the aim of providing education in an atmosphere of a home away from home. The School was built on an expansive 40 acres of land and is situated along the Thika Super Highway. The founders envisioned very high academic and developmental standards with the aim of producing well-adjusted members of a global community who are prepared to actively assume their roles and positively impact their communities. Intake began in all eight classes and in December 1997, the first class sat for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations. Our inception class and their parents requested the management to incorporate a secondary school for the next phase of their children’s education—thus Juja Senior School (JSS) was started in 1998. Both the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) curriculum and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Curriculum were implemented that year, diversifying the curriculum offered to our students. In order to provide comprehensive educational services, a kindergarten school was also started in 1998, catering to pupils between the ages of 2 to 6 years old. At Juja Preparatory and Senior Schools (JPSS) we have striven to provide our students with a holistic education. We encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities to increase their exposure, develop and stimulate their minds in order to be constantly informed on emerging trends. In this light:
- Aviation was started at the inception of Juja Senior School (JSS) to stimulate the student’s interest in this global and expansive field at an early age. We are proud to have contributed to the careers of pilots flying with prominent world airlines.
- We continue to invest in our sports academy to provide our children with an active physical outlet and encourage a competitive spirit.
- Similarly, we sensitize our students on the importance of environmental conservation through tree planting and awareness. We offer various other clubs and activities to suit the different interests and needs of our students.
All three schools have continued to grow, contributing to the academic, social and spiritual development of children in this country. Since 1997, we have continued to evolve to provide our students with skills that prepare them to face emerging trends and adapt to an ever changing world.
